DoB Warfare

DoB Warfare v1.0M is a customized version of Bohemia Interactive's Armed Assault Warfare game mode. Its goal is to increase the convenience of some select areas of Warfare, while avoiding major changes to the gameplay mechanics.

As of July 25, 2008, the sole developer is Raws, with input from Doolan and Gafgarion.

Todo

Dools' note: while Shilkas are annoying, they are, after all, specialized AA units equipped with radar-tracking turrets. Along with the M113 Vulcan, they should be the top-notch aerial defense unit of their side, and making them vulnerable to Hellfires would unbalance the game greatly.

More worrying is the accuracy of BRDMs and BMPs, that, given map configuration, generally engage targets at 500m or less, and yet are accurate against helicopters and airplanes up to 1km or more. Same goes for the coax gun of the T-72 and its pintle-mounted dushka, although I doubt that those can be modded separately from the main gun.

Known Issues

  • Warning on mission start: "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. cawheeled3_m1030". Caused by adding M1030 motorbike to West's default base spawn. Can just click OK, and the bikes work fine, but still puzzling.

    • All BRDM-2s and BMP-2s now get an experimental spotDistance skill reduction to 25% of normal upon vehicle initialization. This needs testing to see if there is actually any effect. If the change is triggered, a "Reduced skill of BRDM-2 or BMP-2!" message will pop up on the player's screen. Behavior in multiplayer is unknown.
